Matera electrical started its business in 2003

From its beginnings in 2003, Matera Electrical started with 2 apprentices. By late 2004 Matera grew to 3 apprentices and 1 tradesman.

2005

Matera wins first large commercial project

In 2005 Matera won its first large commercial project and by mid-2005 had grown to 25 employees.

2006

Business continues to grow

2006 - 2007 saw a continued increase in business size by picking up new contracts. The Matera team increased to 45 employees with 10 of those being apprentices. During this time the first round of apprentices became tradesmen.

2009

Construction of two larger arms

By 2009 the business had two larger arms being constructed and maintenance being undertaken. Matera had grown to around 65 employees and continued to remain a stable business for the following years to come.

2013

Matera celebrates 10 year anniversary

2013 was the 10 year anniversary of the business and saw a move into the Oil & Gas industry. Matera secured their first contract for Woodside and experienced continued stability throughout the company.

2017

Matera continues to expand oil and gas business

During 2014 - 2017 Matera increased personnel in their Oil & Gas arm from 4 employees to 65. Currently employing approximately 110 people, Matera continue to expand out their Oil & Gas business.

2020

Matera signs oil and gas contract extension

Matera has been awarded a new multi year contract with Woodside to continue Maintenance and Inspections at the Karratha Gas Plant.

2022

Celebrating Success

Matera Electrical were named the Winner of the WA Small Employer of the Year 2022 for the WA Training Awards by the Western Australian Government.

2023

20 Year Anniverary

In 2023, Matera Electrical celebrates 20 years in business! Since starting the business in 2003, Matera Electrical has grown to now over 100 employees throughout Western Australia.
